A staple A/W coat for everyone’s wardrobe is the trench coat, this item comes around every year in a variant of styles, colours & tailoring. Today’s post will style 5 different trenches 5 different ways and will be cover everything from high street to high end.
A classic camel/stone trench coat is timeless and easy to style. Here are 4 in slightly different cuts & tailoring, rounding off with something a little different. Starting with the high street ASOS DESIGN have released a stone boyfriend cut trench coming in @ £40. This one hits you right at the top of the thigh just under your bum. The boxier fit grunges it up a little so you could style this one with a Monki black long leg boiler suit. Boiler suits have been everywhere throughout the summer and I am hopeful this is a trend that transitions into the colder months as well. Paired with a pair of Veja Campo white trainers £105 and some square tortoise shell Topshop sunglasses. This look kind of channels the androgynous style vibes that have been at the forefront this year.
Coming in second is a light camel trench coat from Mango @ £69.99. This one is a lot more tailored with a wrap around belt to cinch the waist in a little bit. The paler camel gives it a very chic look as well as the midi length, as this one hits mid calve. You could style this in a more one tonal way. Paired with a pair of beige tailored trousers, a Zara white halter neck bodysuit & Gucci black slip on loafer dupes from ASOS DESIGN at a very reasonable £35. A great office-wear outfit if your dress code allows.
Zara always kill it with their A/W items, especially coats and jackets & this one is no exception. I think this is my favorite coming in @ £79.99. This camel trench comes with a tie waist belt again to make it more tailored however it has an overall over sized boxy fit & my favorite aspect is the buckles at the cuffs of the sleeves. As this one pretty much speaks for itself style it very simple with a focus on accessories. Paired with an Arket crew neck white tee (FYI they do the best basics and at a really reasonable price) and ASOS DESIGN farleigh high waisted mom jeans. Accessories are all again from ASOS and I’ve went for a shiny croc style buckle bag & rhinestone embellished hair accessories but you could style any accessories you want. Hair clips are everywhere at the moment & I am definitely not mad at it, so cute!
So disclaimer before we get into this next one, this is 1000% a splurge purchase and is not necessary, buuuut I know that some people like to invest in staple pieces that will never tire and you can keep and re-wear from now until eternity (for this price tag they would need to bury me in this coat). So to cater for everyone this is the classic Westminster Burberry trench coat available from NET-A-PORTER @ £1550. And just for a bit of contrast we are going to style this very boujee trench in the grungiest way possible whilst still keeping it feminine. So paired with ASOS polka dot mini skirt, ZARA halter neck bodysuit & Dr Martens Jadon flatform chunky boots @ £169.
And last but not least something a little different.. A khaki long line trench with contrast stitching, if camel is not your thing then you might love this one. Again from ASOS DESIGN and only coming in @ £42 in the sale, act fast!! Another simple but very A/W weather appropriate outfit, paired with the ASOS mom jeans and Veja trainers, but this time with a new look knit jumper (very snuggly)..
