September has been a bit of a dry month with regards to new make up purchases because I’ve had so many other things going on in my life to spend my pennies on, however I have managed to test out a few newbies and throw together some favourites for the month end.
Skincare first, I don’t want to go into this in too much detail because I have a post coming up very soon talking about my skincare routine and some of the faves I’ve been using, but there are a few prouducts for this month that Are worthy of a mention. The first being a daily cleanser from the brand Youth Lab, this is the first product I’ve gotten from this brand but I’m sure it won’t be the last. I’ve been using this morning and night and I love it, its so gentle on the skin doesn’t cause any rednesss or tightness. It smells fresh and natural so you don’t feel like your putting anything bad on your skin and I have noticed a massive difference since using this, my skin is much clearer and brighter than before. I got this from BeautyBay Youth Lab Daily Cleanser for Normal-Dry Skin, £11.50 for 6.76fl oz which is a bargain for a product that really works. I’ve also been trying a different Mario badescu facial spray, the aloe, cucumber and green tea Mario Badescu Facial Spray, £7. This honestly feels like heaven on your skin!! It’s so refreshing and it works in so many ways. I spray this on my face after cleansing like a toner, I use it to set my make up and I use it throughout the day to freshen up, you name it this does it. The rose water is still my fave scent but I love this one for a change! The last skincare product is a mask, this is without a doubt my fave skin care step. Is there anything better than getting your pyjamas on, putting on a mask and having a cuppa? (just call me grandma). I can’t express how much I love this Glow recipe mask (Watermelon Sleeping Mask, $45) I know what you’re thinking Jemma $45 that’s hella expensive which yeah it is but trust me it’s worth it. After using this for the last month my skin is so baby soft and hydrated it feels so refreshed and it makes me feel 1000% better when my skin is in a good condition. This mask is ideal because it’s a Sleeping Mask so if you’re feeling lazy there is no excuse not to do this you just apply a coin sized amount all over your face like a moisturiser and let it work it’s magic. It smells amazing and it’s pink so that was me sold.. I defo don’t regret this purchase my skincare has completely transformed since trying this miracle mask.
I have a few make up faves for this month. One which is an oldie but a goodie and has made its way back into my make up bag, the L’Oréal luminous magique pure light primer. This is a great drugstore dupe for Macs strobe cream and with fall make up coming back in and the more matte look I love this primer for keeping the glow alive a little bit when using more matte products. It’s light on the skin and mixes with foundation really well to give you that matte but not flat look for the colder months. It’s also affordable so win win. I have another affordable fave this month. Those of you who follow me on Instagram will know I’ve been loving rose/pink recently so I recently purchased a cream base eyeshadow from maybelline the 24hr colour tattoo in the shade pink gold. I love this on its own for a more natural look or underneath glitters or pigments for a more glam pigmented look. I have these in a few shades now and they’re super affordable, highly recommend these. This month I tried something very new for me… false lashes!! I am absolutely useless when it comes to applying false lashes so I’ve never been a fan but I have been trying them more recently to add a bit more glam to my looks when I’m going out. It may come as a surprise but they are actually from New Look’s beauty line (if you haven’t already then check it out they have some great products) they have a few different styles of high definition false lashes but I’d be lying if I told you the name of these, they are a very light natural whispy lash which add a tiny bit of volume and length to your own lashes while still looking natural. The lash life will defo never become my everyday look but I’ve been loving it for a change. The last 2 beauty products in my faves this month are lip products. The first is the BITE beauty multi stick in the shade creme caramel this is exactly what it says in its name it can be used for multi purpose blush or lips but I have been loving this as my new fave every day nude lip. It’s so creamy and comfortable on the lips and I know this is going to be a winner for a long long time. I love it when I find a new brand I love!!! Last but definitely not least in the make up section is a matte liquid lip from Jeffree Stars collab with MannyMua in the shade I’m shook and like it says in the name I’m shook!!!! This is the nicest shade I’ve worn for a while it’s a warm muted red perfect for the autum and winter months, the formula is great and it dries completely matte, once this is on your lips it ain’t going anywhere! Definitely my new favourite liquid lipstick formulation. Already planning the other shades I want to buy on payday (sorry bank balance).
Last in the favourites for September is a fragrance, Hugo Boss for her the scent. I have had this for less than 2 weeks and I am obsessed. The bottle is so chic and looks great sat out on your vanity. The scent is described as being powerful but still uniquely feminine. It’s a stunning fruity scent with hints of oriental floral – I can see you all now sat at home with your puzzled expressions. Perfumes are so hard to explain but just try it for yourself trust me you need this! If I could recommend anything from all of these favourites it would definitely be this. A little more expensive but entirely worth it! I know this is going to be a favourite over and over again already can’t wait to purchase a bigger bottle!!
Not too many new products this month but hey it’s all about quality over quantity right? Already got my eye on some new products for next month. Cannot wait to get my hands on some Fenty Beauty, roll on pay day!!! As always guys thanks for reading and if you do purchase any of the products I recommend I’d love to hear from you to see what you think or if you have any recommendations for me I’m all ears!!
